to departure to help ensure fair play amongst the riders.
 All participants must have a motorcycle endorsement if
one is required in your state or province. Wearing of helmets is
encouraged and is mandatory in many of the areas we will be riding and proof of insurance must be provided. A birth certificate or passport will be required at the border crossings between the US and Canada. Failure to bring one of these documents may bring very long delays.

SO, what is this Lake Erie Loop business all about anyway?

 The Lake Erie Loop (LEL) is a fundraising event to
benefit the "Aluminum Cans for Burned Children" Foundation (ACBC). ACBC provides many services for pediatric burn victims. The foundation provides medical supplies including special bandaging materials needed for the care of burns, a scholarship fund and a summer and winter camp, all at no cost to the children or their families. Raising additional cash for ACBC through motorsports was started in 2003 when Brookpark, Ohio firefighter Bill Murar, an avid motorcycle enthusiast, rode over 12,000 miles to the four corners of the United States on a 1965 Sears 106SS motorcycle.

The Lake Erie Loop is a 650+/- mile endurance run around the
lake to be completed in one day.
 There will be two distinct groups involved in this event;
under 225cc bikes that will be competing for cash prizes and
unlimited size bikes riding along for fun. For the smaller bikes, this will be an all out endurance run to see who can complete the trip in the shortest amount of time.

We strongly encourage ALL rally participants to enter and compete in the Lake Erie Loop. Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the best long distance riders in the region, it's a great way to help kids in need. If you've never entered a long distance riding event before it really is a lot of fun and will expand your world as a scooter rider.

There are several ways to "attack the loop" some guys go at it solo, hard n' fast. Other guys (especially those in the tourist class) tend to run in groups checking out the competitors as they circle the lake. If you're running a 250cc or bigger scooter you may want to group up with a bunch of other tourist class riders to share the ride with other non-competitors.
Hopefully, that covers everything, if you have any questions about the Rally contact Pride Of Cleveland Scooters at 216-227-1964. If you have any questions about the Lake Erie Loop contact Bill Murar at 440-865-6272
